The news was also confirmed by the program’s co-creator Simon Cowell.
“The worst kept secret in Hollywood is out,” he said in a statement to MTV News. ”Mario and Khloe are our hosts. They will debut on our first live show in November and I couldn’t be happier.”
Lopez is already an omnipresent television host, anchoring the entertainment news magazine show Extra and dance reality competition America’s Best Dance Crew.
“I’m very excited to be joining the ‘X Factor’ team,” he said. “I love the show, and I’ve been a big fan of Simon Cowell and the judges for a long time. Khloé and I have been friends for years and I know we’ll be a great team and have a blast.”
Meanwhile, this will be Kardashian’s first TV hosting gig, as most of her experience has revolved around the E! reality series universe centered around their family.
“I’m so thrilled to become a part of the ‘X Factor’ family,” she said. “I’ve been a big fan of the show and look forward to working with Simon and all of the judges. It’s going to be so much fun!”
TMZ has reported that according to sources connected to the deal, Khloe’s mom Kris Jenner had to step in and close out a deal so her daughter can land the hosting job.
Negotiations between E! And Fox almost came to a complete halt because they could not agree on a deal allowing Khloe to appear on both TV networks.
On Ryan Seacrest’s radio show last week, Kardashian said, “I’m so nervous — I’ve never hosted before! What if I get kicked off the show because I say something so bad?… I just have to control the language a little bit.”
